Week Ten Meeting

This week we have mainly been focusing on the album cover design and also creating a rough copy of our music video ready for our Thursday's lesson where we can show our progress and then get feedback. I think it's very important for our group to get feedback as we can make things better and also get more ideas from our target audience, which is 15-18.
We haven't yet finished filming because we are struggling to find a boy that would be in our video. But after our meeting today we have brought some other idea's forward to try out so it will fill in the gaps that are missing. The idea that we had is to have a paint fight and also flick paint at a blank wall that will spell out 'Feel So Close' which is the title of our song.
We plan to film this over the christmas holidays at Ashlee's House as she is decorating her room and would be a good opportunity. We will use what we film for the album cover and also for the end of our music video.

Week Nine Meeting

This is our final group meeting before we go out and start filming. As our group are using our own camera, we spent a short time going through how to work the camera so it would save time on going through it on the day of filming. As well as going through the camera, we spoke about the routine for the day of filming, when we are going to start, what we are going to need and at what location we will need to be at. Finally, we spoke about what needs to be finished before we start filming, such as things on the blog and to get them finished in this lesson.

Week Eight Meeting

Over the past few lessons we have been mainly working on completing our storyboards and getting the images of each shot onto the blog. It has been quite an easy activity as we have done a lot of previous planning on what we would like to happen on each part of the song. While doing this we have been listening to the song and making sure all the shots work with what is happening with the beats and timing of the music.

We have made good progress over the past few weeks in terms of how clear what is happening with the video, is with us all now so the filming will run a lot smoother.

Week Seven Meeting

This week we have been focusing on completing our research into the music channels that our video could be played on.  We have been given a checklist of all the stuff that needs to be on our blog, so we have gone through it and shared out the work equally to that it is fair. Also have been preparing the letter that we are going to send the approve copyright of the song. We have gone through all our questionnaires as a group and have taken them into consideration like the ideas they have written.

Wednesday of this week we were introduced to a editing exercise where we can play around zooming in  and out of pictures and text. Unfortunately Final Cut isn't letting me do this so I will start that next week instead.

Lastly this week we are working towards creating the storyboards so we can get out and actually film our music video.

Week Six Meeting

As we are missing two members of our group Freya and Ashlee, me and the other group member Chloe have had to work extra hard to keep on track and make sure we are getting everything completed. We have mainly been working on some editing exercises. These include the Pink Panther Exercise and Tom Jones. They give us some experience in working with the editing application Final cut, for when we come to edit our actual music video. I (Jessica Staplehurst) have also uploaded some practice shots that we are thinking of using.

Week Five Meeting

This week we have been concentrating on getting our powerpoint ready for Wednesday's presentation. As we have not been sure what to included in our powerpoint we have to make a few adjustments before we showed our pitch to the audience. We also uploaded some test shots and a test video along with our powerpoint to show what a few of our basic ideas are. We have also been researching what Music Channels our video would be shown on and found out what record labels would produce our kind of music.

Week Four Meeting

As we have changed our idea our powerpoint now has a lot of information that is irrelevant to our actual music video idea. Because of this we have had to change our word cloud by expanding the words on it, also we have had to add and change some images on our mood board to make it fit with our new ideas. As we have never worked together before it was difficult at the beginning to bring our ideas together but now we have spent more time together we are working more as a team. As you can see from our meeting image!

Week Three Meeting

We had to make a think of the ideal target audience and make a timeline of our video. This meant that had to go through every part of the song and decide what we wanted to do. To do this, we looked at a lot of music videos that had the same genre or that had some of the ideas that we were thinking of in to see how they filmed it.

Week Two Meeting

This week we chose our song, we chose to do 'Feel So Close' by Benny Benassi. This song originally by 'Calvin Harris' and the remix has a very good beat and we all really liked the song. We have now started to brainstorm ideas of how to illustrate the words and the music. We had the idea of basing the narrative on one girl who is trying to find ideal boy. This should give us plenty of opportunities to have lots of different mise en scene and characters. We have a rough idea of what we want to do and plan do develop this to a more detailed script in our next meeting.

Week One Meeting

In our first meeting we wrote a list of possible songs that we could use for our music video. Chloe in our group has previously recorded a song called All Night Long so we made this of first idea. The song is upbeat and would be good to dance to. The second choice was a song by Ok Go called Here It Goes Again. The original music video is the band on treadmills dancing but we thought we could make it more modern by using the lyrics. We decided to do an upbeat song as with garage band we can put markers on each beat which will make it easier to edit. With this, we can have lots of different scenes to make it more exciting. We also started to look at some remix songs as we all like this kind of music so we would be easier to think of ideas to do.
